Srinagar, Sep 27 (KNO): Praising their efforts, Pawan Kumar Sharma, Inspector General (IG) Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Saturday lauded the courage and determination of the women bikers who successfully completed the 3rd edition of the CRPF High Altitude Bike Expedition.
The seven-day expedition, flagged off by DG CRPF on 23rd September from the Lal Chowk clock tower, Srinagar, originally planned a 1,400-kilometer route to Pangong Tso and back.
According to details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), due to recent developments in Leh, the team covered 620 kilometers, reaching Fotu La, Kargil, braving steep climbs and rugged terrain that tested their endurance and skills.
Led by the indomitable “Yashasvini” women bikers, the contingent carried both the National Flag and the CRPF flag atop Royal Enfield 350 CC motorcycles, sending the inspiring message: “Desh Ke Hum Hain Rakshak,” symbolizing the Force’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation.
Pawan Kumar Sharma commended the bikers for their exceptional grit, teamwork, and ability to overcome formidable challenges, stating that their achievement serves as an example of empowerment and inspiration for others across the country.
The Srinagar Sector CRPF organized the Yashasvini High Altitude Bike Expedition 2025, which highlighted the exceptional skills and spirit of CRPF’s women daredevils as they navigated some of the world’s most demanding landscapes.
Notably, a CRPF spokesperson said that the Yashasvini team has not only demonstrated extraordinary endurance and skill but also strengthened the spirit of women empowerment within the Force. Their journey stands as a symbol of courage, resilience, and dedication to the nation.
“The flag-in ceremony at GC Humhama, Srinagar, was graced by senior CRPF dignitaries, including P R Jambholkar, DIG (Administration); Vivek Bhandral, DIG GC Srinagar; D K Singh, DIG Operations; H S Kales, DIG (P&A); Sudhir Kumar, DIG Srinagar North; and Dr. Amit Butola, DIG Medical.
